Along with her hot new romance, Rihanna has now revealed her hot new SS17 Fenty x Puma collection.

Paris Fashion Week 2016 took place across my first official week of University, and although many catwalk Snapchat Stories were viewed whilst being ever so slightly intoxicated, the impact they had was all the same. 'Dancing' in a club, I decided (as I so often do) to record my whole night to share with the world. As I checked Snapchat, I was in complete ore of Rihanna's new collection; taking Sportswear to a new level of 'Girly'.

If there is anything you should know about me, it's that anything pink, sparkly or frilly is totally 110% already in my wardrobe - well my imaginary one anyway. This theme continues into my everyday life, with pink being my chosen eyeshadow, and metallic home furnishings (and heaps of fairy lights) being my chosen decor. So when I first saw the SS17 Fenty x Puma collection, my drunken heart made lots of tiny little leaps.

I feel that I was so moved by Rihanna's new collection because it is so unlike Rihanna; she's spent years curating her albums, her look and her wardrobe into the 'bad girl RiRi' we've all come to know and love as an artist. Although the sass levels are very much still present (corsets for sportswear though, really?) the bubblegum and pistachio flavours makes me question how bad our 'bad girl' really is.

Instyle.com claims that RiRi took a streetwear approach to 18th century fashion, an era that was further inspired by her aim to present the new collection in Paris.

"I am really excited about this collection as it's very fun and light. Showing in Paris was the perfect backdrop as I pulled a lot of inspiration from France, Marie Antoinette and The Palace of Versailles specifically," Rihanna said in a release. "Mixing athletic wear with regal touches was a challenge, and I hope everyone loves the results. I cannot wait to wear this collection."

I, for one, am embracing this new Rihanna. Even though the whole corsets thing is very questionable for the gym, it does look rather nice strutting down the catwalk of a Parisian venue. I feel that the colour palette has also touched on a very relevant yet unappreciated trend of today; the over-washed, over-worn, you've-over-owned me look. Pastels that are almost so under saturated that you can just about figure out what colour they represent.
