The Great British Jacket Envy

Grow old gracefully. Pls.

If you're really from Britain then the pinnacle of your Wednesday night should have been all about a rough 45 minutes of The Great British Bake Off, or how us die-hard fans pronounce it, GBBO. I'm not going to babble on about cakes (although that wouldn't be the worst thing to happen today) but instead what I really want to talk about, what I think we ALL should be talking about, is Mary Berry's hot af jackets.

Fans are super envious of her new found wardrobe. E-n-v-i-o-us. It does go without saying that Mary Berry is pretty bloody hot for her age (81) and it only seems fitting that her outfit choices are just as hot as her.

For her first appearance of this series, Mary opted for a naughty pink linen blazer, coupled with her statement pink lipstick and matching pink nails. There are a few high street alternatives if you're desperate to reach the same sass levels as MB; French Connection Rikki Crepe Blazer for £65, a Oui Fitted Blazer £69.50 (at sale price) and a Ted Baker Soreli Tailored Jacket for £115. Granted she's no Iris Apfel, but last nights number only added to my admiration for the trendy pensioner. An embellished jacket graced our screens for Tudor week and was a complete distraction from the tasty Tudor treats. I admire women who can take growing old in their stride, and Mary has certainly become a fashion icon for all ages, not just the grandmas.

If you're ever in a rush in the morning and you want to look as fresh as a daisy, just do a Mary Berry; whack on some pink lippy and a show-stopping jacket.
