'If ever you wanted to understand how artists or inventors come up with and develop their ideas, then this documentary is an answer to your prayers.'

Although it was first thing in the morning, I actually managed to stay awake for this documentary. At first, honestly, I was left a little confused, I couldn't quite make out what I'd watched. Sure I'd learnt about the creative process but in little pockets. I feel that they did cover enough variations of creative careers to apply to a wide audience, but it did leave me a little bit lost.
I did enjoy knowing that not everyone is prepared for their deadline, like things do just go wrong sometimes. But I also enjoyed watching people talk about their day to day job so passionately, about how the dream had become a reality. Which at the end of the day is all that I, or any other creative student, wants.
When Si said this was a mandatory blog post, I understood why. We are currently looking at the creative process and how to generate a wealth of ideas in order to mould it into its most successful outcome. I'm kinda finding it difficult because I'm an art student, I want things to look pretty, but now I've got to apply the whole businessy side to it. But this film is definitely the light at the end of the tunnel: I've got to embrace this process, enjoy it, to get the most out of it.
The documentary, in it's most basic form, explores the different techniques and thought processes of a wide range of creatives and their disciplinary. The documentary was released in 2012 portraying sixteen creative people in their different areas. Some creatives are not what you expected and this takes you by surprise but definitely adds to the charm of the documentary.
Creative - 'Relating to or involving the use of the imagination or original ideas to create something'
However, the cast includes people typically associated with the creative process such as Alex Adams and Flora Gill the Fashion designers (Ohne Titel), Choreographer Kaith Younge and Huma Bhabha with major contrasts to cancer researchers Moungi Bawendi and W.David Lee, who are creatives for exploring the cure for cancer through experimentation and thinking 'outside the box'.
It makes you feel like you're crazy, how could these people possibly be linked?
An idea is an idea no matter what it's for or where it came from.
