Everyone hide, it's trying to make a comeback

Back in 2012, a very scary micro-trend made an appearance and all of a sudden, it's trying to make a comeback. Hollywood, especially, adopted the skirt over dress trend. Tbf, I've but a skirt over a dress before, or even trousers, but I did that to make the dress seem like a top, I didn't pull the bottom of the dress under the skirt. Like these questionable people:

Tbh, Blake Lively pulls it off. But that's because she's, well, Blake Lively. It's the left picture that worries me, in my personal opinion it just looks like this trend is trying too hard. The mini skirt is just too much of statement, it's neither flattering to the dress underneath it or the person wearing it. At least the other two look like both items have been considered when pairing them together.

After Diane Kruger and Karolina Kurkova wowed Hollywood with that micro trend, bloggers everywhere tried to re-adopt the trend in 2015.
It keeps trying to creep through, and it'd not pretty. That skirt neither flatters the waist or the legs. Nothing in fact. That shirt dress would have been so much nicer on it's own. I even rate the dress over trousers trend over this.
Luckily no particular designer adopted this trend and I hope 2017 doesn't welcome it. After seeing several images of individual's takes on the trend on social media, I am already well and truly done with it.
